I am a Medical Doctor with post-qualification experience spanning 18 years. I passed my fellowship examination in the Faculty of Family Medicine in October 2015 for the West African College of Physicians after 5 years of residency. My 17 years post qualification experience includes 2 years in Accident and Emergency, 3 years in General Surgery, 5 years in Family Medicine as a Resident and 2 years as Head of Department.
In the last 2 years of residency, I took on supervisory roles in the Department of Family Medicine, Central Hospital Benin (CHB), as the Chief Resident. This made me participate actively in the day to day running of the Department and training of Junior Residents.
In 2012, I was appointed member of the State Implementation Team for the eradication/control of malaria, TB and HIV in Edo State with responsibilities for coordinating strategy execution; facilitating the training of health-care workers; monitoring and evaluation; and site activation.
Since October 2015, I have taken on managerial roles in the Department of Family Medicine at Central Hospital Benin City including being responsible for the day to day smooth running of the department. I have also been responsible for running the sexual assault clinic and participate in patient care services on the inpatient/outpatient basis. In March 2017, I was appointed the Head of Department of Family Medicine/Accident and Emergency. I am currently the Coordinator of the Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
I am adept at providing medical care to patients according to adapted and updated medical knowledge, values and universal hygiene standards to improve the health status of clients. I am hardworking, adaptable, confident and enjoys training students.
